One of the most powerful ways to strengthen Carlton IN Business is by actively using your Business Connector to introduce, connect and engage potential members within your network. Every conversation, referral and introduction creates an opportunity to grow our community, increase participation and convert prospects into engaged members. By leveraging your existing relationships, you can create meaningful business connections that benefit the entire network.

Tip for May: The Power of Face-to-Face

In today’s corporate landscape, it’s easier than ever to hide behind an email or jump on a Teams call instead of picking up the phone or getting in front of someone in person. Although if you’re serious about building a relationship, nothing replaces meeting in person.
It’s in the small moments, a handshake, reading body language, the pre and post meeting conversation where you inevitably learn a bit more about the actual person which is where trust is really built. These are the details that get lost on a screen and they’re often what turns a business contact into a genuine, lasting relationship. This isn’t dismissing the advantages of modern technology and online meetings certainly have their place.
We know it’s easy to talk yourself out of it. An in-person catch-up takes more time and effort than sending off an email and in a busy week that hour or two can feel hard to spare. Although it’s rare that you walk away from a face-to-face meeting wishing you’d just jumped on a call or communicated over emails instead.
So next time you’re weighing up a call or email versus a coffee, consider making the effort to get in front of them. It will pay you back immensely by strengthening your relationships and network.
