We have officially kicked off our Carlton IN Business Purpose-led event series.
The series of five events provide our members with the opportunity to opt into a smaller scale event that aligns with their business purpose to strengthen connections with like-minded individuals from across the network.
On Tuesday 18 June we hosted the first of the five events, the Future Thinking Forum, proudly presented by La Trobe Business School.
On the night we were thrilled to be joined by co-keynote speakers Gaye Morris, Strategic Client Executive at Mercer and Courtney Hughes-Lord, Principal Consultant at Mercer. With a panel from a diverse range of industries including: Mahesh Krishnan, Chief Technology Officer at Fujitsu, Rui Xue, Associate Professor in Finance and Business Analytics at La Trobe Business School, La Trobe University, Jeannie Sims, Acting Victoria Chief Digital Health Officer, Victorian Department of Health and Gavin Juchnevicius, General Manager – Marketing, Communications and Digital at Carlton Football Club.
It was a thought provoking evening, delving into the current Mercer Global Trends with conversations on new technology, digital transformation, cyber security and AI and how these trends are materialising within the workplace.
The series continued on Tuesday 23 July with the Inclusion and Diversity Luncheon proudly presented by Fujitsu.
A special thank you to our host Megan Waters, keynote speaker Charlotte Wright, Acting Head of Purpose (ANZ) at Fujitsu Asia Pacific, and our panelists Lisa Annese, Chief Executive Officer at Diversity Council Australia Ltd, Tanya Hosch, Executive General Manager of Inclusion and Social Policy at AFL – Australian Football League and Graeme Beardsell, Chief Executive Officer at Fujitsu Asia Pacific for their invaluable insights.
The event provided guests with a forum to discuss ways of fostering diverse and inclusive workplaces and how organisations can impact communities by building relationships based on mutual respect.
The panel provided thought-provoking commentary around the importance of acknowledging diversity in all its various forms, investing in the future, and the importance of building relationships before partnerships – with the driving message being consistency over perfection.
It was inspiring to be in a room of like-minded people and learn about the great initiatives that are being made in the DEI space across all industries.
